Ride through the Soussusvlei salt and clay pan, an otherworldly terrain surrounded by the massive red sand dunes of the NamibRand Nature Reserve, and look for wildlife that has ingeniously adapted to these harsh conditions. Zebra, aardwolves, wild cats and a variety of antelopes all live here. Between adventurous drives in the 4x4 vehicle, take advantage of a host of optional activities that include hot air ballooning, horseback riding and flying in a helicopter. Stargazing from the comfort of your outdoor sky-bed adds yet another dimension.
Special Note: Any guests travelling with Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC) or CPAP breathing machines should read further below for airline stipulations with regards to bringing this equipment on tour.
Upon disembarkation in Walvis Bay, you will be met and transferred to Walvis Bay Airport, where you will board your charter flight to Kwessi Dunes Airstrip.
Fly from Walvis Bay to Kwessi Dunes.
The flight over the Sossusvlei and Namib desert is an expedition on its own with stunning aerial views. Upon landing at Kwessi Dunes airstrip, collect your luggage and make your way to Kwessi Dunes. Enjoy a welcome drink upon arrival at the lodge.
Enjoy lunch followed by check-in formalities.
After lunch enjoy one of the optional free of charge day activities such as quad biking or a nature walk.
There are also options to enjoy hot air ballooning, horse riding, a scenic helicopter flight, a day trip to the highest dune in the world at Sossuvlei, spa treatments (at an additional charge), or relax and take in the atmosphere and scenery.
Enjoy afternoon tea, before heading out on a once-in-a-lifetime Sossusvlei desert drive through the NamibRand Nature Reserve, one of the largest private reserves in southern Africa.
The scenic drives at Kwessi Dunes are unlike any other you will ever experience. You might not find the Big Five wandering around the harsh desert of the NamibRand, but you will find yourself immersed into another world of rugged and rocky terrain, mauve mountains, the infamous red dunes and enormous swathes of desert.
The space is humbling, the sense of peace is spiritual and it’s one of the world’s most striking, stirring places. The fairy circles that dot the ground are particularly intriguing. Over the years, the theories behind them have been hotly debated, however no one really knows for certain why they are here. Just another reason to visit this extraordinary place.
The dunes are home to a variety of wildlife that has adapted in many fascinating ways to survive the harsh terrain. You will most likely find gemsbok, springbok, kudu and steenbok in most corners of the reserve, silhouetted against the red sand. You may also spot Burchell’s zebra amid the dunes as well as the more unusual black-backed jackals, aardwolves and African wild cats, which can be surprisingly easy to find compared to other reserves on the continent. Leopards and cheetah are rare but there are small numbers of both.
Upon your return, freshen up before dinner is served.
End the night by stargazing in your outdoor sky-bed.

Explore the hauntingly beautiful Namib Desert with a variety of options to choose from including but not limited to game drives into the wilderness, climbing sand dunes, quad biking and nature walks while luxuriating at the exquisite Little Kulala lodge between experiences.
This program is limited to 10 guests.
Upon disembarking in Walvis Bay, Namibia, you will be met by a local English-speaking representative and transferred to the Walvis Bay Airport for a light aircraft charter flight to Little Kulala.
Upon landing at the Geluk airstrip, you will transfer with a local lodge representative to Little Kulala.
Little Kulala hosts guests in luxurious, air-conditioned thatched units, each with en–suite bathroom and outdoor shower, wrap-around veranda, private plunge pool and rooftop ‘sky-bed’ for gazing at and sleeping under the stars. The lodge overlooks a water hole in the desert, drawing in game such as gemsbok (oryx), bat-eared fox, jackal, springbok and ostrich.
The extensive use of neutral colors, gorgeous textures and natural light reproduce the soothing pastel tones of the desert. Pure linens, cottons and mohair dyed with natural vegetable dyes all make for a very organic camp, which takes its inspiration from its surroundings, notably from the magnificent Deadvlei.
The welcoming main area has a lounge, library, dining room, extensive outside dining deck, bar, wine cellar and curio shop, all under thatch; with an inviting communal pool area and sundeck for relaxing afternoons.
After checking into Little Kulala, you will enjoy afternoon tea.
Later in the day embark on a sundowner drive into the Kulala Wilderness Reserve. The experience will offer the opportunity to view extraordinary desert wildlife such as gemsbok and to enjoy a drink while watching the sun set over the mountains.
Back at the lodge, you will have time to freshen up before dinner.
After an early-morning wake-up call, you will ride in a 4x4 vehicle to Sossusvlei, an enormous salt and clay pan surrounded by towering red sand dunes. Most of the year, Sossusvlei—which means “dead-end marsh”—is bone dry. However, it’s not devoid of plants and animals.
The flora and fauna have adapted to the extreme conditions. They include ostriches, springboks, aardwolves and camel thorn trees, whose lengthy roots tap into the water system that lies deep underground. Many of the desert animals eat the yellow fruit of Nara Melons, a plant endemic to Sossusvlei. The guide will likely point out Welwitschia, a plant often called a living fossil as they are thousands of years old and survive by extracting water from the air.
You will also have the chance to climb Big Daddy, the tallest dune in Sossusvlei. Although reaching the top isn’t mandatory, if you do, you will enjoy sweeping views of Deadvlei, another photogenic clay pan.
Return to the lodge for lunch and time at leisure.
Later in the day set out for a sundowner drive or guided walk.
Options will be made available by the lodge staff when you are on site.
Return for dinner followed by the opportunity to star gaze with your guides.
After breakfast, take part in one of several options. Additional charges may apply to certain activities.
Options and costs will be made available by the lodge staff when you are on site.
Activities offered at Kulala (subject to change): guided 4x4 excursions into Sossusvlei and Deadvlei through a private gate into the Namib Naukluft Park, quad-biking (ages 16+), birding, guided nature walks, massage at the spa, guided scorpion walks at night, Olympus Photo Hub experience, and scenic afternoon sundowner drives on the 37,000ha private Kulala Wilderness Reserve.
Later in the day set out for a sundowner drive or guided walk. Options will be made available by the lodge staff when you are on site.
Return for dinner followed by the opportunity to star gaze
After breakfast and check out a transfer will take you to the airstrip for a flight to Cape Town via Walvis Bay. Upon arrival, a local English-speaking representative will accompany you to the port where you will re-embark the ship.

Mostly, Namibia has a subtropical desert climate characterized by great differences in day and nighttime temperatures, low rainfall and overall low humidity. The average temperatures in April range from 13°C /55°F to 26°C/79°F
Accessibility
Please note that due to the nature of the wild and adventurous setting, the camp is unable to support wheelchair access given the uneven terrain and raised decks. For individuals with difficulty in walking we do have rooms closer to the main lodge areas, for ease and comfort. These must be requested in advance and are subject to availability.
Comfortable cotton clothing (neutral colors are best) and your favorite walking sneakers are pretty much all you need to bring along with your daily preferred toiletries. You will be provided with organic, environmentally-friendly body soaps and lotions in all the suites at Little Kulala. Given the ease of daily complimentary laundry service at the camp you do not need to pack much: the settings are very casual and informal and guests are encouraged to dress comfortably for the season and adventure ahead. You may also want to bring swimwear, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, camera, chargers, and anti-malaria prophylaxis. Safari trousers and warm fleece tops may be required for evenings and cooler days.
Currency
Namibian dollars and South African Rand are equal in value and accepted as legal tender anywhere in Namibia. Other currencies such as U.S. dollars are not so widely accepted. When departing Namibia, it’s best to exchange Namibian dollars beforehand, as they aren’t as easily exchanged as South African Rand outside of Namibia. Most foreign hard currencies can be exchanged at bureaus de change and banks.
A combination of solar and generator power.
It’s always best if you bring electric devices, take along an international converter kit complete with a set of adapter plugs. Electrical sockets in Namibia are Type M (SABS-1661). If your appliance's plug doesn't match the shape of these sockets, you will need a travel plug adapter in order to plug in. Electrical sockets in Namibia usually supply electricity at 230 volts AC / 50 Hz frequency. If you're plugging in an appliance that was built for 230 volt electrical input, or an appliance that is compatible with multiple voltages, then an adapter is all you need. If your appliance isn’t compatible with 230 volts, a voltage converter will be necessary.
The luggage allowance is limited on the light aircraft charter flight. Guests can bring a total of 15kg (33lbs) per person—this includes hand luggage. Only soft-sided duffel bags will be accepted. No wheels, frames or rigid structures can be transported as they physically cannot fit into the aircraft. Oxygen, CPAP machines, wheelchairs and walkers cannot be accommodated.
This program takes place in Namibia. A passport that is valid for at least 6 months after departure is required. Guests must bring their passport. The passport should have a minimum of four blank pages for entry stamps. If there is insufficient space in the passport, then entry may be denied.
Passport holders should verify with their relevant consulate concerning visa entry requirements for Namibia and South Africa specific to the nationality of their passport. Visa fees, if required for entry into Namibia, are not included in the cost of this program.

Please note: Land programs that encompass multiple days ashore customarily include extensive and prolonged activity, while those of shorter durations typically have more moderate activity levels. However, each program varies and participants should be prepared to negotiate a mixture of surfaces which may include inclines, cobblestones, sand, gravel or natural paths. There may be a need to climb steps or stairs on occasion. Guests who utilize a wheelchair and those with mobility concerns are advised to check with the cruise line in advance to see if any portion of the tour program may not be considered suitable for their individual situation.
Head into Namibia’s extraordinary Namib Desert, where you may choose from a wealth of adventurous activities before flying to the verdant Cape Winelands for an elegant urban experience with wine tastings.
After disembarking the ship in Walvis Bay, you will join the tour escort for an immensely scenic drive (approximately 4 hours) to the Kulala Desert Lodge. As you head out of the city, you will soon appreciate Namibia’s remarkable natural landscapes. The Namib Desert ranks as one of the world’s most spectacular settings as it is a hauntingly beautiful untamed wilderness.
After check-in and lunch at the Kulala Desert Lodge, you will have time to settle in and get your bearings. The lodge nestles at the foot of the majestic Sossusvlei sand dunes and affords stunning views in every direction. You will stay in a luxury tented suite, tastefully decorated with natural materials.
Later in the afternoon, the guide will explain your choices for an afternoon activity in the desert, all of which are listed below under Day 2. Following that experience in the desert, you will return to the lodge for dinner, convivial conversation around the campfire and star-gazing.
After an early-morning wake-up call, you will embark on a morning activity of your choice. What you see will depend entirely on what nature delivers, but rest assured it will be magnificent.
Your options may include:
Sossusvlei and Dead Vlei
Sossusvlei is a vast clay pan, flanked by enormous sand dunes. It is a magnificent sight, as are the eerie skeletons of trees nearby in the Dead Vlei, a super-arid area where water once flowed.
Sesriem Canyon
Carved by water over the eons, Seseriem Canyon is a natural phenomenon nearly two miles long. Views from the top will be breathtaking, while walking through the canyon will reveal geological strata of varying colors.
Nature Drives
A drive in a Land Cruiser through the private Kulala Wilderness Reserve will offer opportunities to view wildlife such as ostrich, springbok, Cape fox, and birds. A stop for coffee or a sundowner follows.
Guided Nature Trails
Walking trails present the area’s scenic beauty and the chance to spot smaller animals that have adapted to the desert environment. The popular Tsauchab River Trail winds along the dry riverbed close to camp.
Electric Fat-Tire Bike
Ride an electric-powered bike with fat tires that can easily negotiate the desert terrain. The guide will lead the way and point out the highlights of the spectacular open plains.
Back at the lodge, you will enjoy breakfast and free time until your second activity in the late afternoon. You may choose from the options above or these additional ones:
Scenic Sundowner
Set out in the late afternoon for a nature drive and complete your adventure in a remote spot on the reserve, sipping a gin and tonic while watching the sun set over the distant mountains or dunes.
Sleep-Out Experience
The private rooftop area is ideal for sleep-outs under the starry skies of the Namib. Just climb the wooden stairs behind the tent and let the sounds of Africa lull you to sleep.
The above activities must be booked at the lodge, as there are no advanced reservations.
Dinner will be served at the lodge, after which you may sit around the campfires and star-gaze before retiring for the evening.
After an early-morning wake-up call, you will embark on one last adventure of your choice. Following breakfast and check-out, you will return to Walvis Bay for the flight to Cape Town.
You will then transfer to the Franschhoek Boutique Hotel in the lush Cape Winelands. The mountains that surround the winelands will present quite the contrast to your desert experience.
Following check-in, you will enjoy free time to walk around the nearby galleries and shops. Dinner will be on your own, and there are plenty of excellent choices in the town of Franschhoek.
Following breakfast at the hotel and check-out, you will explore Franschhoek, a town that the French Huguenots founded. Along the way, you will visit two wineries for tastings.
The second venue, La Motte Wine Estate, has a fine restaurant where you will be served lunch. Afterwards, you will return to Cape Town to board the cruise ship.
The order of sites visited may vary to avoid congestion. This program is subject to flight confirmations which are beyond our control. All program details, including timings and any flights indicated below are approximate, given here for general reference purposes and subject to change. Direct flights are never guaranteed. Due to the uneven terrain and raised decks, the camp is unable to support wheelchair access. For individuals with difficulty walking, there are rooms closer to the main lodge areas for ease and comfort. These must be requested in advance and are subject to availability.
Comfortable cotton clothing—neutral colors are best—and comfortable walking shoes are pretty much all you need, along with your toiletries. You will be provided with organic, environmentally friendly body soaps and lotions at Little Kulala. Given the ease of daily complimentary laundry service at the camp, you do not need to pack much. The settings are very informal and guests are encouraged to dress comfortably for the season and adventures. You may also want to bring swimwear, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, camera and chargers. Safari trousers and warm fleece tops may be needed for evenings and cooler days.
Namibian dollars and South African Rand are equal in value and accepted as legal tender anywhere in Namibia. Other currencies such as U.S. dollars are not so widely accepted. When departing Namibia, it is best to exchange Namibian dollars beforehand, as they aren’t as easily exchanged as South African Rand outside of Namibia. Most foreign hard currencies can be exchanged at bureaus de change and banks.
A combination of solar and generator power with 220V multi-plug adaptor charging facilities for mobile devices is available. If you bring electric devices, bring an international converter kit with a set of adapter plugs. Electrical sockets in Namibia are Type M (SABS-1661). If your appliance's plug doesn't match the shape of these sockets, you will need a travel plug adapter. Electrical sockets in Namibia usually supply electricity at 230 volts AC / 50 Hz frequency. If you are plugging in an appliance that was built for 230 volt electrical input or an appliance that is compatible with multiple voltages, then an adapter is all you need. If your appliance isn’t compatible with 230 volts, a voltage converter will be necessary.
The luggage allowance is limited on the light aircraft charter flight. Guests can bring a total of 15kg (33lbs) per person—this includes hand luggage, where you should pack all valuables such as cruise documents, passports and medications. Only soft-sided duffel bags will be accepted. No wheels, frames or rigid structures can be transported, as they physically cannot fit into the aircraft. Oxygen, CPAP machines, wheelchairs and walkers cannot be accommodated.
This program takes place in Namibia and returns you to South Africa. A passport that is valid for at least 6 months after departure is required. Guests must bring their passports, which should have a minimum of four blank pages for entry stamps. If there is insufficient space in the passport, then entry may be denied.

Following a leisurely breakfast on board the cruise ship, you will disembark in Walvis Bay, meet your driver and transfer to the Walvis Bay Airport for a private light aircraft flight to Sossusvlei.
On arrival at Sossusvlei’s Geluk Airstrip, a lodge representative will meet the group and transfer you by open game vehicle to your accommodations at Little Kulala Lodge.
Peace and privacy can be found throughout Little Kulala. Similarly, the stark red dunes of the surrounding Sossusvlei landscape entices with its tranquility.
Enjoy lunch on arrival, followed by check-in formalities and time to enjoy your suite and surroundings.
Little Kulala effortlessly embraces its Namib vistas. Your suite’s private pool is ideal for enjoying lazy afternoons, while your rooftop invites private sundowners and suppers. A roll-out bed on your shaded deck is perfect for a siesta or heavenly night’s sleep.?

Following your afternoon activity, you will return to the lodge for dinner and to spend the evening.
This morning we suggest an early excursion to the Sossusvlei dunes and photogenic Deadvlei. During the course of the day, we recommend either a nature drive, quad bike trail or similar. Enjoy delectable meals at the lodge between adventures.
After one last morning outdoor activity such as biking or a nature drive, you will enjoy breakfast and then check out of Little Kulala and transfer to the airstrip for the scheduled light air flight to Windhoek.
On arrival at Windhoek’s International Airport, you will be met and accompanied on a transfer to the Hilton Hotel or similar. Following check in, you will spend the afternoon at leisure with dinner at the hotel.
Early in the morning, you will transfer from hotel to the airport for check in. A breakfast box will be provided. You will then fly to Kasane, Botswana, with a stop at the O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg.
On arrival at Kasane Airport, a representative will meet the group for the transfer to Chobe Chilwero Lodge.
Sanctuary Chobe Chilwero is a luxurious riverside retreat on the edge of Chobe National Park, an exquisite wilderness home to the world's largest remaining population of elephants. Perched dramatically on a hill high above the Chobe River, the ultra-exclusive camp offers unparalleled panoramic views, taking in the islands and floodplains beyond, stretching as far as Namibia.
With 15 stunning, breezy suites, scattered across lush green lawns and gorgeous reception spaces, Chobe Chilwero is undoubtedly the most luxurious lodge in the area. The lodge has a full-service spa, making this the ideal place for those who prefer their action and adventure served with a healthy dose of pampering. Enjoy a unique opportunity to unwind over a range of indulgent treatments then cool off split-level swimming pool, a remarkable spot that belies its bush surroundings. Further magic awaits in the camp’s dining room, where head chef Phineas presents an extraordinary array of gourmet cuisine encompassing both western and African influences, which has seen Chobe Chilwero renowned as something of a gastronomic destination.
Established in 1967, Chobe National Park is the third-largest conservation area in Botswana, comprising four primary regions, offset by the dazzling, deep-blue waters of the delta: Chobe River Front, Savute Nogatsaa and Linyanti. Designed to take full advantage of its spectacular location, Chobe Chilwero grants guests an unparalleled perspective of the thriving 50,000-strong elephant population that calls the park home – the highest concentration in Africa and just one of many reasons why visitors are captivated by the extraordinary beauty and allure of Chobe.
After checking in and freshening up in the comfort of your suite, you will be served afternoon tea. Optional afternoon activities include a Sunset Chobe River Cruise or Chobe National Park Game drive.
Home to the largest concentration of elephants, the Chobe National Park is one of the world’s leading wildlife destinations. The Chobe River, which forms the park’s northern boundary, provides a permanent source of water for the region’s high volume of wildlife, making the river an important focal point for safari enthusiasts.
You will enjoy the diversity of Chobe National Park’s abundant wildlife on guided 4WD game drives and take in the beauty of the river on boat safaris, while witnessing the herds of game and prolific birdlife along the riverbanks.
Back in camp, you will enjoy dinner.
DAY 5
Enjoy a full day at Chobe Chilwero Lodge, including a morning and afternoon game activity where you may observe Chobe elephants, as well as an abundance of other wildlife.
Enjoy delectable meals and time at leisure in between, perhaps by simply soaking up the African sun or enjoying an optional spa treatment (additional amount).
DAY 6
Following breakfast and check out from the lodge, you will transfer to Victoria Falls. A visa is required as you will cross the border between Botswana and Zimbabwe.
While touring the falls, you will observe it from various perspectives and learn about its history and the formation of the Zambezi River, the source of Victoria Falls. The cobblestone walkways within the rainforest can be slippery and are sloped at times. Rubber-soled walking shoes should be worn, as well as appropriate clothing as you will likely get wet. Due to the terrain and walking more than two miles, this program is not suited for guests who have walking difficulty or who utilize a wheelchair or scooter.
Following the tour of the falls, you will proceed to the Victoria Falls Hotel for an informal lunch before checking in. You will then enjoy free time in your room to freshen up prior to a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River. Snacks and drinks will be served.
Upon returning to the hotel, you will enjoy dinner in the Royal Livingstone Room.
DAY 7
After breakfast at the hotel and check out, you will transfer to the Victoria Falls Airport for the regional direct flight to Kruger National Park.
On arrival at Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport, you will be met and transferred to Lukimbi Safari Lodge, which is located inside Kruger National Park. The lodge has a character of its own – warm, inviting, charmingly imperfect and a little quirky. Bright and richly textured natural fabrics, bold furniture chosen for comfort and artisanal crafted artworks encourage relaxation. You will be encouraged to make yourself completely at home, whether in the lounge, bar, dining room, library or one of the many alcoves. The pool area is a place of serenity right on the bank of the Lwakahle River.
Each of the 14 Classic Suites occupies an elevated position overlooking the bush and has been designed to magnify the view. Private shaded decks, cathedral-style windows, floor-to-ceiling glass in front of great stone bathtubs and open outdoor showers promise ample opportunity to fully appreciate and be at one with the wilderness. Generous open space, 200-thread-count linen, sumptuous feather pillows or microfiber pillows on request, deluxe amenities and an in-room refreshment center invite further relaxation.
In the afternoon, you will embark on an open-vehicle game drive in search of the Big 5 — lions, elephants, leopards, rhinos and Cape buffalo. No two 4×4 safaris are ever the same, nor are they possible to predict. It is about being in the right place at the right time with the right people to show you where to look.
Morning safaris begin just before sunrise and return in time for breakfast, while late afternoon safaris depart before sunset and return in time for dinner. No more than 8 people will ride in the open shaded safari vehicle. A maximum of 6 vehicles are out on the reserve at any given time.
The Kruger National Park is a protected sanctuary and as a result visitors are treated to frequent sightings of endangered rhino, both white and black. White rhino now number more than 2 600, representing the largest population in Africa. Although this woodland does not sustain the concentrations of game found on “sweet grasses” sustained in clay soils, you will find giraffe, zebra, impala, kudu, buffalo, white rhino and elephant.
As wildebeest and zebra – preferred prey species of lion – are found in low numbers in this southern region, these apex predators are less common here. This relative scarcity of lions means that cheetah and wild dog are seen in reasonable numbers.
Following the afternoon safari, you will return to the lodge for dinner and to spend the evening.
DAY 8
Enjoy a full day at Lukimbi Safari Lodge, including morning and afternoon game drives and three meals. You will also have time to relax in your suite, lounge around the pool and perhaps opt for a spa treatment.
DAY 9
After an early-morning departure from the lodge, you will transfer to Kruger’s Mpumalanga International Airport. A breakfast box will be available during the journey. You will fly to Richard’s Bay with a stop in Johannesburg’s O.R. Tambo International Airport. On arrival at Richard’s Bay Airport, you will be met and transferred to the harbor to embark your cruise ship.

• This program is suitable for guests with walking disabilities providing that a travel companion or spouse accompanies them. Confirmation is strictly subject to availability of handicapped rooms at the time of booking.
• As with most of Africa, seasons at Victoria Falls are defined by the high and low water levels, and wet and dry seasons. Historically, the rainy season in this greater region is from November to March/early April, and the dry season from April/May until November. However, these periods of wet and dry do not fall exactly in line with ‘high and low’ river levels.
• This program is not fully guided however a local escort will accompany the group throughout. The program at the lodge and hotel is run solely and at the discretion by the lodge/hotel staff.
Weather is quite warm in February in Sossusvlei. The average high during this season is between 97.9°F (36.6°C) and 87.5°F (30.8°C).

Clothing should be cool and comfortable. Casual clothing can be worn throughout. Sweaters and heavier jackets are required for winter mornings and evenings. Muted colors such as greens, browns and khaki are the most suitable on safari. Long sleeves and long trousers are also advised for mornings and evenings due to mosquitoes. Sturdy and comfortable shoes are essential. Sunscreen, sunglasses and hats are essential. Binoculars and cameras are a must as are chargers, electricity converters and mosquito repellant. You may wish to bring a bathing suit.

Electricity in South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Botswana have power plugs and sockets that are of type C, D and G. The standard voltage is 230 V and the standard frequency is 50 Hz. Outlets in South Africa require a three-pronged adapter plug with 3 round prongs. We recommend bringing an international converter kit complete with a set of adapter plugs. However, overnight recharging may not be possible where generator use restricts the availability of electricity.

The variety of flora and fauna is equally as fascinating as the color nuances of the landscape, which change continuously as the day progresses.

From October to April the average temperatures range from 20°C to 35°C during the day. The main rainy season falls between January and April.
Clothing should be mostly lightweight. It is advisable to take a jacket or sweater for the cooler evenings. The layering system is suggested for any early morning and night-time game drives, this allows for the variety of temperatures that may be experienced. In lodges, the emphasis is on comfort rather than style. It is advisable that your clothing be as neutral as possible in the bush (beige and khaki is ideal). Solid and comfortable footwear is recommended should you be doing a lot of walking (walking shoes or desert boots are ideal). Blouses with long sleeves (even in summer, they will protect you from the sun and the mosquitos). T-shirts. Shorts, jeans or chinos for evenings and cooler days. Fleece, sweater or a warm jacket for game drives. Comfortable walking shoes (hiking boots are not necessary). Sun block, sunglasses and hat. Camera. Swimsuit. Small alarm clock.
Currency:
Both Namibian dollars and South African Rand are equal in value and are accepted as legal tender anywhere in Namibia (other currencies such as US$ are not so). Most foreign hard currencies can be exchanged at bureaus de change and banks.
Namibia’s electrical system is 220 volts AC, 50hz. (Outlets are of the round three-pin type.) We recommend you bring a universal travel adaptor for any electric devices.
Luggage:
Charter light aircraft flight luggage limit is 10kg/22 lbs per person in soft bags including hand luggage. Only soft bags will be accepted – no wheels, frames or rigid structures can be transported as they physically cannot fit into the aircraft.
We will also require guests’ body weights for the light aircraft flights as the charter company requires these in order to plan and prepare properly for each flight. Please note that passengers weighing more than 100kg (220 lbs) will be required to purchase an extra seat for comfort and safety reasons.
Documents:
Passports are required to be with guests
Please note that 2 consecutive blank pages are required in your passport per entry into Namibia & also South Africa. South African officials take this requirement very seriously and will turn you around if you do not have sufficient pages. You will be travelling from Namibia to South Africa.
Aircraft type (subject to change):
4, 8 or 10-seater charter light aircraft will be used in Namibia
