Expect to run the gamut of emotions. One morning, you will visit sites where the Khmer Rouge carried out unspeakable atrocities in the 1970s, including an infamous prison and the horrific Killing Fields. That very afternoon, you will explore the sublime Grand Palace and Silver Pagoda in Cambodia’s capital Phnom Penh. Another whole day will be devoted to the wonders of Angkor Wat, a UNESCO World Heritage site that is the world’s largest religious monument. Seeing it in the sunlight and in the evening will be an extraordinary treat.
Special Note: Guests travelling with Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC) or CPAP breathing machines should read further below for airline stipulations with regards to bringing this equipment on tour.
DAY 1
Once you have disembarked the cruise ship, an Akorn representative will meet you at the gangway for the transfer to the Phuket International Airport. After flying to Bangkok and connecting to Siem Reap in northwestern Cambodia, you will be met and assisted with obtaining your Cambodian entry visa. Once this has been issued, you will proceed to the Raffles Hotel Le Royal in the capital of Phnom Penh for check-in.
Designed in 1929, this hotel has enjoyed a rich history, having served royal families, foreign dignitaries, international celebrities, writers, and musicians. Featuring polished wooden floors, high ceilings and marble bathrooms, the guestrooms are furnished with a classic sense of style. The spa and two swimming pools are ideal for a moment of pampering and relaxation while the restaurants serve a variety of local and international flavors.
After dinner at the hotel, you will spend a relaxing evening at your leisure.
DAY 2
After breakfast at the hotel, you will visit the Tuol Sleng Museum, a former local high school that the radical Communist party Khmer Rouge took over in 1975 and converted into Security Prison 21. During the three years of brutality that followed, the prison became synonymous with terror. Now a museum, it offers a grim reminder of the excesses and cruelty of the Khmer Rouge.
After browsing the museum, you will visit a bustling Russian marketplace before continuing on to the somber Killing Fields, where the Khmer Rouge murdered and buried an estimate 1.3 million people during the late 1970s. The mass graves there tell the dark story of Cambodia’s disturbing past.
By afternoon, the subject matter and mood will change dramatically as you visit the Royal Palace. A fine example of Khmer architecture, the complex was constructed in the mid-19th century. If you have seen the Royal Palace in Bangkok, you may notice the resemblance.
The guide will lead you inside the palace’s Silver Pagoda and its surrounding compound, the only section open to the public. The pagoda, also known as Wat Preah Keo, was named for the more than 5,000 silver tiles that cover the floor.
Your exploration of Phnom Penh will continue at the National Museum of Cambodia, whose collection focuses on classical art.
Dinner follows at Malis restaurant after which you will return to the Raffles Hotel Le Royal for the evening.
DAY 3
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before checking out and transferring to the Phnom Penh International Airport for the flight to Siem Reap. Upon landing, you will proceed to the Raffles Grand Hotel D’ Angkor for check in and lunch.
In the early afternoon, you will meander through the ruins of Angkor Wat, starting from the eastern gateway and exploring areas such as the Historical Gallery, the Hell & Paradise Gallery and the Churning of the Ocean of Milk Gallery. This is a glorious example of classical Khmer architecture, which is regarded by many as the quintessential Angkor experience. Angkor Wat features the longest continuous bas-relief in the world, which runs along the outer gallery walls and narrates stories from Hindu mythology.
After this enlightening experience, you will return to the hotel to relax at your leisure for a few hours.
As sunset approaches, you will transfer to the Angkor Archaeological Park for a rare and magical dining experience amid the ancient temple ruins at night. The sound of Khmer drums will greet you as you follow a torchlit path into the dining venue. Dinner and drinks will be accompanied by traditional dancing and music.
Afterwards, you will return to the Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor for the evening.
DAY 4
After breakfast at the hotel and check out, you will transfer to the Siem Reap Airport for the flight to Singapore. Once you land, a local guide will assist you on the transfer from the airport to the pier, where the cruise ship will be waiting for you to embark.

Expected Weather
Hot and dry. The average mid-day temperatures can hover in the upper 30s C (85-90 F), especially in inland areas like Siem Reap. It is less breezy this time of year and the sun can be quite intense. The air becomes hazier with the rising humidity. Even so, the lack of rain still makes this a good time to visit.
What to Bring
Think comfortable and casual. Local dress codes should be observed. Please avoid uncovered shoulders, shorts or revealing clothing. Full-length trousers or pants and/or skirts covering the knees must be worn when visiting temples. Although dinners are not formal, you may want to bring something a bit dressier for that time of day.
Bring a hat or a head covering for sun protection and sunscreen, sunglasses and mosquito repellent for sunrise and sunset hours. Also, bring along a small packet of tissues or wet wipes. Wear flat comfortable walking shoes, not sandals, open-toed shoes or flip flops. Be prepared to take-off foot wear and hats when visiting religious sites.
Local Currency
The local currency is the Cambodian Real, but bring US Dollars as they are widely accepted. Take smaller denominations of US Dollars so you won’t end up with lots of local change that you can’t re-exchange back home.
Electricity
Rooms are equipped with 220-volt, two-pin US-style electrical outlets. Bring an adaptor kit for electronic devices.
Luggage information
Light luggage would be most suited for this 3-night trip. The airlines allow a maximum of 1 checked suitcase (20 kg or 44lbs) and one small carry-on. Any additional pieces will be in excess and fees must be paid to the airline at the guests’ expense. You can store excess luggage in Singapore at the hotel. Please ensure that all excess bags are tagged properly and visibly with your full name and suite number on the ship. Be sure that all excess bags are tagged properly and visibly with your full name and suite number on the ship. Pack accordingly before disembarking as excess bags will be collected when you disembark the ship and you will be re-united with your luggage on Day 3 in Singapore. Neither Regent Seven Seas Cruises, the hotel, nor our local ground operator are responsible or liable for any lost or missing items. We do not recommend leaving valuables behind or in checked luggage. Do not leave valuables behind or in checked luggage; keep them in your carry-on hand bag.

3. These documents need to be sent to the Land Program Team via Reservations at RSSC at least one month prior to travel so that our local operator can begin the notification process with the airline(s).
4. Failure to comply with the above regulations may result in a denial of this equipment at the airport for which neither Regent Seven Seas Cruises nor our local ground operator will be responsible for.
