PRE: PATAGONIA: MAGNIFICENT TORRES DEL PAINE

Behold the stunning beauty of Torres del Paine National Park, a natural wonderland exulted for its jaw-dropping vistas and soaring peaks. Highlights include cruising a mountain lake to one of the massive tongues of Grey Glacier and standing in awe before Salto Grande, a lake-fed waterfall that thunders down so violently that its power reverberates through the air. For an authentic look at local life, you will watch a sheep-shearing demonstration and see sheepdogs display their prodigious herding skills at an estancia in the heart of Patagonia.

DAY 1

After arriving in Santiago, you will spend a restful night in a comfortable hotel in this captivating capital of Chile.

DAY 2

By afternoon, you will find yourself immersed in the traditions of a Patagonian estancia, where you will watch a sheep-shearing demonstration and the impressive skills of sheepdogs at work. To enhance the experience, you will enjoy a quintessential Patagonia meal of asado de cordero al palo, which is lamb spit-roasted over an open fire. Afterwards, you will check into the hotel in Puerto Natales for dinner and to spend the evening.

DAY 3

You will start the day with an early breakfast at the hotel and transfer to the Chilean lake Lago Grey for a breathtaking cruise to Grey Glacier. It is the largest glacier in Torres del Paine National Park and its three massive tongues end at the lake in bluish cliffs that rise more than 100 feet high above the water. It is an awe-inspiring sight.

Back on shore, you will stop for lunch at Hotel Grey before returning to your hotel in Puerto Natales. Dinner will be served at the hotel, after which you will enjoy another relaxing evening.

DAY 4

Today, you will explore the dramatically beautiful east side of Torres del Paine National Park. You will begin by visiting serene Laguna Azul, where you can take in stunning views of the iconic Torres peaks. You will enter the park through Laguna Amarga Gate and stop at the Lago Nordenskjöld viewpoint, which offers sweeping vistas of turquoise waters framed by dramatic mountains.

You will also enjoy a delicious lunch at a restaurant surrounded by the park’s unparalleled beauty. Afterwards, you will visit the powerful Salto Grande waterfall before exiting the park and returning to your hotel.

Experience the natural and architectural wonders of Chile by driving through the majestic Andes, exploring cities such as colonial Valparaiso and the capital of Santiago, and by tasting some of the country’s premier wines.

Day 1

After proceeding through immigration and customs at the Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport in Santiago, Chile, your local guide will meet you at the exit number 4 and will take you to your transportation, then directly to your hotel in Santiago.

Check in is at 3:00pm. Although every effort will be made to have rooms available before this time, this cannot be guaranteed.

The day is at your leisure and any meals are on your own.

Day 2

After breakfast, you will board a coach and begin a tour that will include the most important highlights of historical and modern Santiago, including the presidential palace, San Francisco Church and the Plaza de Armas with a visit to the Cathedral. You will continue through the newer residential areas of the city and stop at the top of San Cristobal Hill for a breathtaking view of Santiago.

You will then proceed to the Santa Rita Vineyard, located just 45 minutes away from Santiago. Placed in the foothill zone of Alto Jahuel, in Buin, the vineyard is surrounded by an extraordinary natural environment. The tour will reveal the characteristic wines produced here.

Afterwards, you will pause for lunch at Restaurant Doña Paula. This national monument honors Paula Jaraquemada, who owned the main house of the Santa Rita Estate more than 200 years ago.

The estate was the setting for significant historical occurrences associated to Chile’s independence. General Bernardo O’Higgins and 120 soldiers took refuge there after a battle against the forces of the Spanish crown. The winery’s Santa Rita 120 line of products was named to honor those 120 patriots.

Note: Day's two and three may be reversed as the Winery is closed on Mondays.

As you begin your journey into the Andes, weather permitting, you may be able to see Mount Aconcagua in the distance. As you climb higher, you will surely be impressed as the mountainous scenery unfolds and the guide explains the natural history of the Andes.

Portillo is located at high above sea level next to the Laguna del Inca with its emerald green waters. The World Ski Championship was held here in 1966 – the only one held in South America until 1990. PST:EASTER-ISLAND: MYSTERIES OF THE MOAI(LIM)

Behold the iconic and mysterious moai statues that were carved on Easter Island centuries ago and delve into the culture that created them. You will see the moai in at least three different locations – the volcanic quarry where they were carved, at the seaside archaeological site Ahu Akivi and at a beach where Easter Island’s king reigned. An exploration of Chile’s modern capital of Santiago will perfectly complement the adventure.

Special Note: Any guests travelling with Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC) or CPAP breathing machines should read further below for airline stipulations with regards to bringing this equipment on tour. This program is not recommended for those guests traveling with wheelchair or with walking difficulties due to the amount of walking, steps and uneven ground to be negotiated.

The statues rest on a rock platform and weigh about five tons each.

After breakfast at the hotel, you will travel to Rano Raraku, the volcanic quarry where the moai were carved. Hundreds of abandoned statues in various stages of completion are littered about, lending a surreal atmosphere to the setting.

Another group of moai statues overlooks the beach at Anakena, where one of the island’s kings built his house. There, you can relax on the pristine stretch of sand and swim the turquoise waters.

Back at the hotel, you will watch a captivating dinner show that features traditional Polynesian dances, mesmerizing music and exquisite tropical-inspired cuisine.

DAY 4

Following breakfast at the hotel and check out, you will visit the ceremonial village of Orongo, which perches on the edge of the Rano Kau volcano. PST:EASTER ISLAND: MYSTERIES OF THE MOAI(RIO)

You will also visit an abandoned ceremonial village for islanders in the Birdman cult that followed the moai culture.

Note: This program begins in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and ends in Santiago, Chile, therefore, outbound flights need to be booked from Santiago International Airport.

DAY 1

Following disembarkation from the ship, you will transfer to the airport for the flight to Santiago, Chile. Upon arrival, you will be met by a representative and transferred to a five-star hotel in the heart of Santiago.

Note: All luggage will accompany guests on the flight to Santiago. See further below for luggage restrictions.

DAY 2

Following breakfast at the hotel and check out, you will fly to Easter Island, one of the world’s most remote and mysterious places, famed for its iconic moai statues and rich cultural heritage. Upon arrival, you will transfer to your luxurious accommodations, where you can settle in and freshen up.

You will then tour Ahu Akivi, a sacred archaeological site with seven moai statues gazing out over the ocean. The moai, which are monolithic human figures made of quarried volcanic rock, may have been carved in the 15th century, but the exact time period is unknown. The statues rest on a rock platform and weigh about five tons each.

DAY 3

You will see a number of fascinating petroglyphs and stone houses with sod roofs and learn about the Birdman cult that succeeded the moai culture. The village was eventually abandoned in the late 19th century.

Later, you will head for the airport for the flight back to Santiago, where you will check into the hotel for the evening.

DAY 5

Following breakfast at the hotel and check-out, you will transfer to the Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport in Santiago based on your flight details. If you have a late-departing flight, luggage storage will be available at the hotel until your transfer time.

POST:CHILEAN WONDERS AND WINE

Experience the natural and architectural wonders of Chile by driving through the majestic Andes, exploring cities such as colonial Valparaiso and the capital of Santiago, and by tasting some of the country’s premier wines.

Day 1

Following disembarkation in San Antonio, Chile, you will meet your guide and then proceed for a tour of colonial Valparaiso, which UNESCO deemed a World Heritage site for being an excellent representation of late 19th-century urban development. As you drive through the city’s steep winding streets, you will pass the Parliament building, Fisherman’s Wharf, Plaza Sotomayor and the Naval Academy. You will also ride a cable car to a lookout that presents sweeping views over the city and bay.

After lunch at a local restaurant, proceed towards Chile’s capital city, Santiago, where you will be dropped off at your hotel for check in. The afternoon is at your leisure and in the evening join your group for dinner at the hotel.

After lunch, you will return to your hotel in Santiago. The evening will be at your leisure with dinner on your own.

PST: EASTER ISLAND: MYSTERIES OF THE MOAI

Behold the iconic and mysterious moai statues that were carved on Easter Island centuries ago and delve into the culture that created them. You will see the moai in at least three different locations – the volcanic quarry where they were carved, at the seaside archaeological site Ahu Akivi and at a beach where Easter Island’s king reigned. You will also visit an abandoned ceremonial village for islanders in the Birdman cult that followed the moai culture. An exploration of Chile’s modern capital of Santiago will perfectly complement the adventure.

DAY 1

After disembarking the ship, you will settle in for a scenic drive through beautiful Casablanca Valley, known for its cool-climate wines. During a tour of one of the region’s top vineyards, you will learn about the local winemaking techniques and sample a selection of premium wines. You will also indulge in a delicious lunch made with locally sourced ingredients and thoughtfully paired wines, all the while enjoying stunning vineyard views.

Afterwards, you will continue on to Santiago and check into your hotel. The remainder of the day will be at your leisure, during which you might explore the capital city’s vibrant streets or simply relax at the hotel.

DAY 3

DAY 5
